Barley growers looking to maximise yield need look no further than our new variety, AGT-Reaper CL.
AGT-Reaper CL is a stand-out, setting a new yield benchmark . In its first year of NVT testing (2025) it made an immediate impact, winning 26% of all trials across Australia and drawing strong interest from growers and agronomists alike.
AGT-Reaper CL is related to the 'Hindmarsh' family of barley varieties, a family famous for very wide adaptation, very high and stable yields, and a shorter, compact plant type. Maximus CL is a great example of a variety within this family, and has become the most widely grown variety in Australia. AGT-Reaper CL is similar to Maximus CL in plant stature, Clearfield® herbicide tolerance and adaptation to a wide range of environments, but has produced a remarkable 8-10% higher yield.
Both AGT-Reaper CL and Neo CL offer very high yield potential, however AGT-Reaper CL has shown much better yield stability than Neo CL, offering peace of mind for growers in lower rainfall districts or those experiencing tougher seasons.
AGT-Reaper CL has a disease resistance package that compares well with most other varieties on the market. AGT-Reaper CL has been entered into the Grains Australia malt accreditation program and is currently deliverable as Barley/Feed.
