Breeders comments

Being very closely related to Mace, Hammer CL Plus shares a similar maturity and sowing window, as well as wide adaptation and suitability to southern cropping regions.

Along with having an AH quality classification in SA, Hammer CL Plus produces grain with low screenings losses and high test weights.

Hammer CL Plus also offers one of the best disease resistance packages in a Clearfield variety, and with good levels of resistance to both CCN and yellow leaf spot, lends itself to wheat-on-wheat situations.

Hammer CL Plus has finer, and therefore weaker straw than Mace, so growers may observe some leaning or lodging when Hammer CL Plus is grown in higher yielding situations.

Clearfield® System

Hammer CL Plus has been specifically developed to carry two genes for tolerance to Clearfield® Intervix® herbicide. Intervix® is a member of the imidalolinone chemical family with Group 2 (formerly Group B) mode of action, offering one-pass post-emergent knockdown and residual control of many major grass and broadleaf weeds.

Intervix® herbicide is available via the Clearfield® Agricentre Agency system, administered by BASF. For more information visit crop-solutions.basf.com.au/products/intervix or Toll Free 1800 558 399.
